The beach of Ag. Prokopios, one of the most
beautiful beaches in the Mediterranean Sea
with the unique red coloured lakes located nearby
the golden sand, tends to be the most popular
beach on our island.

Aghios Prokopios was the old port
of Naxos where Turkish and pirate boats arrived. There
is a shipwreck near the rocks found on the end of the
beach.

At the end of the beach you will find the small church
of Agios Prokopios On July 8th Agios Prokopios church
celebrates and at this time , you may enjoy greek traditional
music and special events organized
by the Cultural Organization of Agios Arsenios.

Agios prokopios  is a popular beach very well organised
attracting a lot of tourists each year. Near the beach you
will find tourist shops, beach bars, traditional taverns, a pharmacy
ATM and taverns. A beach with thick sand and deep blue waters
with water sport facilities.

You can access the beach using the transportation from Chora.
During summer months there is a bus every 20 minutes starting
early in the morning up to late in the evening.

Agios Prokopios is not only the most famous beach in naxos,
but has also been given international distinction. The most notable
feature of this beach is the fine pebbles which look like sand yet
don’t stick to the skin, also the amplitude of colours her water make.

On this bay, which is under protection awarded with the blue flag
since 1985. Here you can combine a relaxing bathe with water sport,
while you may find many cafes and taverns at the beginning
of the beach.
