South of Ag. Anna and Ag. Prokopios you will
find the sea side settlements of Maragas
and Plaka, where you can relax on the long
and vast beach with its white sand.
Counting 4 km long you may enjoy the
idyllic scenery which is composed by sugar
white sand. The big sand hills and the dark green
waters offer unforgettable moments of relaxation
and calmness.
Plaka beach offers water sport activities. There are fully
organized Surfing Class schools and diving schools. You may
also enjoy jet skiing, skiing, tubes, banana and kitesurfing.
There are taverns along the beach to satisfy your tasty needs,
with traditional greek and international cuisine (mexican, italian).
The beach bars and cafes are very popular. Beach parties are
still organized in Plaka beach taking you back to the 80's when
Plaka used to be a hippies haven.
Wine Festival on Plaka Beach
Taking place at the end of August in Plaka Beach.
Here you may enjoy various flavours of local wine with
sounds of greek traditional music and performance of
dancers dressed in traditional costumes.
The Wine festival is organized by the
Cultural Organization of Agios Arsenios.
